I’ve been poking at characters holding up their own books for a while now, and a few earlier tries did noooot work. Not.
But! I got it in the multi-image Flux Kontext model at fal.ai. You can access this model in Freepik, too, but if you just want to run a few pics, it’s cheaper in the pay-per-image playground at fal.ai if you load in a few dollars of credits.
(This site is AMAZING for trying a bunch of things very quickly without laying down cash for a subscription somewhere, but pay attention to the usage costs if you do! Videos especially can add up.)
You’ll need a character, a background, and a mockup of your book.
Anyhow, I took these three images, with this prompt, and tada!
Prompt:The 23-year-old man is looking at the camera with a relaxed and cocky expression and holding up the 6" x 9" book The King's Weaver in the medieval corridor
Make sure to specify actual dimensions for your book! Or it’ll make it very weird sized.
Remix as needed.
Have fun!

I like this idea. It allows the readers to become more intimate with their characters. I had only been doing character coffee mugs and jigsaw puzzles. Thanks.
LOVE this so much. Thank you!!!
