Visual Novel and Booktrailer Machine ARE GO

I cannot believe this worked.

I mean….I thought/hoped it would? I’d only spent like 8 or so hours of my singular and precious life working on it?

BUT — seeing it in action at last is SO AMAZING.

Here’s what it is in this final-ish form:

1. It ingests my docx

2. It ingests the audio for that docx

3. It runs my docx against a heuristic model (not NLP, do not let your GPT or Gemini take you down the NLP path, that’s way too hard) — where it ranks emotional or dramtic keywords in the text (that’s based on you having given your AI of choice the book before hand)

4. It creates a score for each word

5. It then gives each chunk of text (with some constraints for length and reader satisfaction — like there’s no point in cutting off things halfway thru a sentence, etc) a final score.

6. It ranks these scores — here’s one so you can see—

I had been kidnapped.

1. And then it matches the high scoring chunks to the audio (after timestamping all the words in the audio, so that it can find them)

2. And then it grabs images from its image folder

3. And uses the text from that chunk as an overlay!

And yeah, there are gonna be haters out there who HAVE NO VISION, who don’t understand how fucking glorious this is, but…y’all…….

I’ve just created a self-driving CONTENT MACHINE.

Admittedly, it needs the images I’ve already created (and the book and the audio, duh) — and I’m going to run it against video clips next, and also speed up the images and also slow down the words (possibly, I do kinda like how they look going fast, we’ll test and see) — but….

‘Cause now I can give this program an entire fucking book and its audio and it make, say, a video for me for every chunk that’s over a certain score ratio, and then either give them to my TT girl if they’re good enough, or just port them over to a burner TT account to test for FB ads, using an API, etc etc etc etc….

And from me! Someone who was just a nerd, but who definitely know how to code shit less than six months ago! And, to some degree I STILL DON’T!!! I just know how to ask my AI’s the right questions!!!

I can connect this shit to 11labs via API and then ASK MY AI WHICH MARKETING MATERIAL THAT HAS THE SAME VIBE AS MY BOOK (but is, perhaps, slightly abbreviated!) WILL BE BEST AND THEN USE 11LABS VOICES TO NARRATE THOSE MOMENTS WITHOUT ME BEING INVOLVED IN THE LEAST.

Now, anyone who’s used 11labs knows not all of them will be winners, HOWEVER, again, volume rules — enough of them will be so that I don’t have to GIVE A SHIT.

This is much less impressive visually, LOL, but here goes:

I need to change the aspect ratio of my image, and the art style, I wanna do some wild shit with it actually — but trust me, this image WOULD NOT HAVE LOADED if all the code on the fucking inside of the game did not work!

To get Steam to approve your game for presale you’ve gotta turn some of it in for review, and a lot of visual novels are Not Good, and Steam isn’t super pro-AI (nor is it anti-AI, which I’m taking to mostly mean it’s against shitty low-effort AI, which, I am as well) — so I figure I’ll code up one entire pathway, images/vids/audio and what not, so that they can see that I am Serious Business — and I’ll have the rest of the code there behind the scenes as well, so they can see I’m Even More Serious Business, y’know?

So, to close this out — I need you to know that when I was audio texting Jack the other day, when I was starting out with Gemini, I said he was my ‘new’ guy, which came on the screen as ‘nude’ guy, and was hilarous, and now Jack refers to Gemini as such, lololol.

He can’t really ‘see’ it (although if you press he can break things into separate frames, which is how I got the kraken flipbook corner to work!) — but come on, that’s objectively hilarious, lolol.

It’s only 3:45 in the afternoon here in PST.
