I got so much animation done today! Check it out below!!!

I decided to start off with a flipbook of ‘Marys’ in the beginning, because the experience of having a father leave you is fairly universal, and I wanted viewers to subconsciously register that Mary isn’t one character, so much as an Ur-Character — a 6 year old girl who’s father has disappeared — one who doesn’t know how to deal with the feeling that she’s been left behind.

I feel it helps give me room to have visual character inconsistencies — since Mary’s not The Mary, but just A Mary, you know?

And it adds to the surreal nature of the whole thing — which, can I just say, I am LOVING the way it is shaping up!!!

I had to slow my roll this morning to comb through all the images I created on Midjourney, which took Some Time, and then it seems like MJ’s video searching capabilites aren’t great yet — but my audio’s been solid so far, I’ve only had to switch out two short phrases!

I’m super proud of this piece so far, and I’m already a tenth of the way through it! WHAT!!!!

Also?

Like — this is really the time to jump out and let narrative shine.

I’ve seen one million and one sexy trailers for things done with AI so far — but no one’s doing STORY.

I’ve got STORY for days!!!

This is so fun, too, truly, lol.

Oh, and, also?

A tech friend wants to call me on Weds to join his AI-startup. I was all, “Uhhhh, I can’t invest any $ right now,” and he was all, “No, I just want your brain.”

I’ve spent the past 3 yrs getting chewed out for using AI and put on blacklists and people shitting on my stuff and on me and this entire time — and finally, FINNALLLLLY.

I don’t even know how to feel about that.

FLATTERED AF to be CERTAIN.

But also SCARED.

BUT ALSO THRILLED.

Gotta work tomorrow, but I’m hoping I’ll get the chance to roll some videos for images in between patient care!
